What Is the New BitLeaf?

The new BitLeaf is a Developer Editor. It is a tool that provides the basic InterDev/MS Visual Studio functionality on any wxPython platform.
BitLeaf is built using wxPython (a.k.a. the slikest language/gui toolkit ever!). That also means that BitLeaf runs on linux, windows, and OSX.
If you are familiar with InterDev on Windows machines and have used it with IIS Front Page Extensions you would know exactly what I'm talking about. Nothing on Linux handles live updating of web documents like InterDev does with its Front Page Extensions support (until now that is).
The idea is simply to be able to edit a file, hit "save", live page updated.
BitLeaf does that now!
If you have a WebDav enabled server you are set.

Unlike InterDev however, there are no buttons that insert simple HTML tags like <TABLE>; There are no Javascript builders or image inserting macros, nor will there ever be such things. BitLeaf is DEVELOPER oriented rather than DESIGNER oriented (not that I have anything against that, our felow designers can look at BlueFish).
Current / Upcoming Features

Currently, BitLeaf supports many WebDAV (almost all) and very basic FTP features. If you want WebDAV (WebFolders on windown) bitleaf is ready for you.
The Rules
  • BitLeaf is released under the GPL license.
If you would like to help out, or think you can add cool functionality join the mailing list BitLeaf-General SourceForge.net Logo.
